U.S. Representative Ben Cline, a Republican from Virginia, held his annual Agriculture Conference on October 24. During the event, he visited several agricultural sites and met with farmers and industry leaders throughout Virginia’s Sixth Congressional District.
Cline toured MC Livestock in Augusta County and the Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Research and Extension Center at McCormick Farm in Rockbridge County. He also led a roundtable discussion at the Virginia Horse Center, where local farmers discussed their concerns about federal policies that impact agriculture.
“Virginia’s Sixth District is home to some of the most knowledgeable and hard-working farmers in the country,” Cline said in a statement. “Whether it’s protecting Valley farmland and expanding opportunities for young farmers, putting American farmers first in trade negotiations, or cutting unnecessary government red tape, I’ll continue working to ensure our agricultural community has the support it needs to grow and succeed.”
Cline represents Virginia’s Sixth Congressional District in Congress and serves on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies.
Cline has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Bob Goodlatte. Before his election to Congress, he was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972, Cline currently lives in Fincastle. He graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond in 2007.
