The National Prayer Breakfast will return to the Washington Hilton as a single, unified event in 2026, according to an announcement from Co-Chairs Reps. Ben Cline (VA-06) and Jonathan Jackson (IL-01). The breakfast is scheduled for February 5, 2026.
“This decision reflects both gratitude for how we adapted during an unprecedented time and excitement about continuing this year’s gathering in the tradition by which it has long been defined,” said Rep. Cline, Co-Chair of the National Prayer Breakfast. “The purpose of the event is to bring Members together with the President in a spirit of humility, reflection, and prayer.”
The National Prayer Breakfast began in 1953 after Abraham Vereide organized a small prayer meeting between President Eisenhower and Members of Congress. Since then, it has become an annual tradition that attracts leaders from across the United States and other countries.
“For more than seven decades, this breakfast has offered a consistent space for leaders to pause, reflect, and pray with leaders across the country and around the world,” said Rep. Jackson, Co-Chair of the National Prayer Breakfast. “Returning to the Hilton this year and reuniting the breakfast honors that history while looking ahead with renewed purpose.”
Ben Cline currently represents Virginia’s 6th district in Congress after succeeding Bob Goodlatte in 2019. He previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972, Cline lives in Fincastle. He holds a BA from Bates College (1994) and a JD from the University of Richmond (2007).
The upcoming event will mark the 74th annual National Prayer Breakfast.
