In the initial 100 days of his second term, President Donald Trump has introduced sweeping changes across various sectors in the United States. One of the first noticeable shifts is in immigration policy, where the number of individuals released into the U.S. under the “catch and release” policy fell from over 184,000 last year to just nine this year. This move is seen as a significant reduction and a shift towards stronger border control measures.

The Trump administration contrasts sharply with the previous administration under Joe Biden, especially in terms of immigration policy. The current approach signals a move away from what Trump describes as “open borders and unchecked entry.”

Despite limited coverage in some media outlets, CNN polling analyst Harry Enten reports that only 2 percent of Trump voters express regret in their choice, which aligns with sentiment among supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris. This indicates continued support from the electorate that returned Trump to the White House.

President Trump has pursued multiple policy adjustments since resuming office. This includes efforts against bureaucracy and international trade practices. The U.S. economy showed private sector job growth, with 151,000 jobs added in February and 228,000 in March. The administration attributes this rise to private sector momentum rather than government expansion.

Trade policy under Trump has taken a more assertive stance against countries benefiting from unfair practices. This involves tariffs and negotiations designed to protect American interests. This strategy is claimed to have led to a resurgence in manufacturing, domestic investment, and a strengthened “Made in America” label.

In an effort to streamline government operations, Trump established the Department of Government Efficiency with Elon Musk leading the initiative. The goal is to reduce waste and improve government efficiency. In energy policy, deregulation is aimed at reducing fuel costs and reliance on foreign resources.

The cultural policies of the Trump administration focus on dismantling federally mandated Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives and rejecting what it terms “radical transgender ideology.” These actions are seen as encouraging a return to traditional American values and protecting parental rights.

Overall, these early days of Trump’s second presidency are being positioned by his administration as a period of renewal and confidence for the nation, with promises of continued advocacy for the American populace across various domains.
