Rep. Ben Cline held a town hall meeting at the IHOP restaurant in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on Monday night. The event allowed over 30 residents to ask questions and express concerns about the upcoming Trump administration.

During the session, Cline expressed his support for the Trump administration’s plan to reduce positions within certain federal departments. He stated that this approach aims to “streamline bureaucracy” and increase state power. Additionally, he highlighted his backing of a new Farm Bill.

“Farmers need a safety net, so the Farm Bill is very important. Renewing that Farm Bill every five years is critical. We are unfortunately postponing the Farm Bill until next year,” Cline said. “This new administration is going to share my views on the importance of agriculture and making sure we get it done soon, so hopefully, spring is a good time to get that done.”

Cline also discussed his support for introducing new legislation intended to make laws more “consistent” and fair.
