Congressman Ben Cline (VA-06) hosted his annual Agriculture Conference, visiting several agricultural sites and facilities throughout Virginia’s Sixth Congressional District. The event included tours of locations in Augusta and Rockbridge counties, such as the MC Livestock operation and the Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Research and Extension Center at McCormick Farm.
Cline also organized a roundtable discussion with local farmers and agricultural leaders at the Virginia Horse Center. The meeting focused on gathering input regarding how federal decisions affect their industry.
“Virginia’s Sixth District is home to some of the most knowledgeable and hard-working farmers in the country,” Rep. Cline said. “Whether it’s protecting Valley farmland and expanding opportunities for young farmers, putting American farmers first in trade negotiations, or cutting unnecessary government red tape, I’ll continue working to ensure our agricultural community has the support it needs to grow and succeed.”
Ben Cline has represented Virginia’s 6th district in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Bob Goodlatte. He previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Cline was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1972 and currently lives in Fincastle with his wife Elizabeth and their two children. He graduated from Bates College with a bachelor’s degree in 1994 and earned a law degree from the University of Richmond in 2007.
Cline serves on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies.
