Men's Wrestling Competes at Wildcat Open

Shenandoah University Athletics issued the following announcement on Jan. 22

The Shenandoah University men's wrestling team returned to action by competing in the Wildcat Classic hosted by Johnson & Wales (Rhode Island) Saturday.

The Hornets had two place winners with Dylan Weaver placing fourth at 174 pounds and Derek Liddle sixth at 197.

Joel Martsinovsky of Stevens Tech won a 12-8 decision over Weaver to take third. At 197, Tyler Pelech of Alfred (N.Y.) State recorded a first period pin to earn the fifth place showing.

174 Champ. Round 1 - Mike Galton (Alfred State) won by major decision over Dylan Weaver (Shenandoah University) (Maj 17- 7)

197 5th Place Match - Tyler Pelech (Alfred State) won by fall over Derek Liddle (Shenandoah University) (Fall 0:22)
