All-Region Honors for Outdoor Track & Field Announced

10

The Shenandoah University outdoor track & field program had 11 student-athletes earn a total of 14 All-Region awards in selections announced Wednesday by the US Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association.

All-American Tucker Kindig '22 headlines the eight men and three women by earning All-Region honors in both the shot put and hammer throws.

Kindig, who earned All-America honors with an eighth place finish in the weight throw at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships, was one of three men to be named All-Region in multiple events. Wyatt Schannauer '22 earned his in the shot put and discus throws while Miles Moore picked up All-Region accolades in the 100 meter dash as well as part of the 4 x 100 meter relay team.

The top five individuals in each event in each region, as well as the top three relay teams, earned All-Region status.

William Crowder, Andre Jackson, and Elijah Morton '21 joined Moore on the 4 x 100 relay team to earn that regional honor. This quartet was also the ODAC champion in the event.

The final men's honorees both came from the 400 meter hurdles, where both Matthew Klocke and Elias McGhie qualified.

The women had three student-athletes recognized in three different field events.

Kiara Felston was selected in the hammer throw, Kaitlin Measell in the long jump, and Brooke Sandy in the high jump.

Felston and Measell both earned All-Region honors indoors in their respective events while Sandy was a second team All-ODAC honoree outdoors in the high jump.

The 11 All-Region selections for the men is a new program record.
