VMI Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Zack Scott announced Monday his program's 2022 cross country schedule for this fall.
Also under the tutelage of head cross country coach Danielle Gray, the 2022 season will feature a full coaching staff.
"We are excited to start our first season as a full staff," Scott said. "The 2022 schedule we planned will provide a challenge for both our staff and our team as we prepare our team for the Southern Conference Championship."
The Keydets begin the season September 3 in Richmond at the Richmond Spider Invitational before heading to Harrisonburg, Virginia, two weeks later to compete at the James Madison Invitational.
"We are starting off our season with two meets in Virginia to help our team get ready for one of the highlights of our season - the Paul Short Run - one of the East Coast's most elite cross country meets," Scott said. "Then we will head to East Carolina for our final tune-up before the Southern Conference Cross Country Championship hosted by The Citadel."
VMI looks to qualify as a team for the NCAA Southeast Regional slated for November 12 at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
