Family Connections: The Palmers
We like to think of Valley Health as one large family; nothing personifies that more than when family members work together in our health system. This week, we cover the Palmer family!

What do you like about working with your son? Although we do not work directly together, I am so happy to have Isaiah working for Valley Health/Winchester Medical Center. It has been quite a step up from his previous employment and I am excited about the opportunities that may present themselves for him. He is thriving in a structured environment that appreciates his time and effort.
Why did you choose Valley Health? I chose Valley Health 25 years ago as a brand-new nurse for many reasons. It was a great location within my community, had a great reputation, and had flexible scheduling that accommodated my growing family. I have stayed all of these years for the same reasons and more. Valley Health has supported me with multiple opportunities to grow through continuing education, leadership positions, tuition assistance, and childcare support. I have had several offers to pursue other ventures over the years but have stayed because it feels like home. I was thrilled for Isaiah to witness this organization first-hand.

What do you like about working with your mom? I don't get to see my mom on all of my shifts, but on occasion, we can share a break together. I like that her friends/coworkers recognize me and I feel comfortable around the hospital, interacting with patients and staff.
Why did you choose Valley Health? I am happy to be at Winchester Medical Center. I feel much more appreciated here than with my previous employer. I feel comfortable asking for help and have been given the support I need. I appreciate the level of professionalism that I have witnessed so far. I am happy to have joined Valley Health and look forward to the opportunities that may open up and the connections I have made so far.
Work With Family
At Valley Health, we are looking for passionate, innovative, and caring people who will each bring their unique skills and perspectives to our workplace. We believe our exceptional team members are the foundation of our culture and key to our success at providing safe, high-quality care with high reliability.
We encourage our caregivers to invite their family, friends and network of dedicated colleagues to work (and perhaps live) in a community like ours. We offer an expanded employee referral bonus program which includes a $1,000 and up to $5,000 bonus (depending on position) for BOTH the referring employee AND the new hire being referred.
