WASHINGTON, D.C. – On July 14, 2023, Congressman Ben Cline (R-VA) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024 (NDAA) which provides for the needs of servicemembers and their families through a pay increase, while equipping our military with the tools and resources to counter the rapidly growing threats from Communist China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. The NDAA includes a measure, which Congressman Cline cosponsored, to prohibit the Department of Defense from paying for or reimbursing transportation for service members to receive an abortion.

The NDAA will also provide much-needed oversight and crackdown on waste, fraud, and abuse, saving taxpayers billions of dollars.

Rep. Ben Cline said, “For too long, the Biden Administration has politicized our military in an attempt to further push its radical, woke agenda. I’m proud to support the FY24 NDAA, which is the most pro-life, pro-America defense bill in recent memory. By passing this bill, the House took an important step to ensuring that the American warfighter is the best equipped, best trained, and most lethal fighting force in the world.”

Congressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia. He previously was an attorney in private practice and served both as an assistant prosecutor and Member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Cline and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Botetourt County with their two children.
