3.1% of Rockingham County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Rockingham County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,348 people out of the 83,090 living in Rockingham County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Rockingham County has remained fairly stable compared to the 3.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Rockingham County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 41,752 people who had a job during that time, 21 were employed in the Armed Forces and 41,731 belonged to the civilian labor force.
