Congressman Ben Cline (VA-06) has been awarded the Guardian of Small Business Award for the 118th Congress by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a leading small business advocacy organization.

The NFIB’s Guardian of Small Business Award is given to lawmakers who consistently vote in favor of small businesses on key issues identified by small business owners.

“I am truly honored to receive the Guardian of Small Business Award from the NFIB,” Congressman Cline stated. “Small businesses and the dedicated men and women who operate them are the backbone of our economy, demonstrating remarkable resilience in these challenging economic times. Unfortunately, with high taxes, rising inflation, and unnecessary regulations, Washington still makes life more difficult for Main Street America. This must change. We must remain steadfast in our commitment to cutting spending, eliminating bureaucratic red tape, and easing regulatory burdens so our small businesses can thrive.”

“The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Members of Congress with a demonstrated record of supporting America’s small and independent business owners,” said NFIB President Brad Close. “This Congress, small businesses faced tough economic headwinds, especially from inflation, burdensome regulations, and threats of tax hikes at all levels of government. We are proud to recognize the lawmakers from the 118th Congress, including Representative Ben Cline, who stood up for Main Street by taking pro-small business votes that would reduce taxes, eliminate burdensome government mandates, lower health insurance costs, and fuel the Main Street economy.”

Congressman Ben Cline represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia. He previously was an attorney in private practice and served both as an assistant prosecutor and a Member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Cline and his wife Elizabeth live in Botetourt County with their two children.
