Congressman Ben Cline of Virginia's Sixth District has been named to the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) “Dean’s List,” receiving an A+ rating for his efforts in protecting Second Amendment rights. Cline is one of only 24 members of the House of Representatives to achieve this recognition, which highlights lawmakers who exceed expectations in defending these rights.

In response to the honor, Congressman Cline expressed gratitude, stating, “I’m grateful to receive this recognition from the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Law-abiding citizens should never be punished for exercising their Second Amendment rights. I proudly stand with the people of Virginia’s Sixth District and will continue my fight in Congress to defend our Constitution.”

Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President for Government & Public Affairs and General Counsel, praised Representative Cline's leadership: “NSSF is proud to especially recognize Representative Cline as a member of the new NSSF Congressional Dean’s List for his exemplary leadership in supporting the firearm and ammunition industry and the nearly 400,000 hardworking Americans employed in the industry. Making the Dean’s List is special recognition that Rep. Cline has gone above and beyond to protect and preserve the Second Amendment rights of his constituents and the industry that makes the exercise of those rights possible. We applaud Rep. Cline for his exemplary level of support.”

The NSSF evaluated each House Member based on key votes, co-sponsorships of supported legislation, non-co-sponsorships of opposed legislation, leadership on industry-related issues, public statements, committee activity, floor statements, letters led and signed supporting key issues among other factors during the 118th Congress.

Grades were given to assess each lawmaker's support for firearm industry priority legislation during this period. This includes defending lawful commerce in firearms and ammunition while protecting customers' Second Amendment rights.

Congressman Ben Cline represents Virginia's Sixth Congressional District. He previously worked as an attorney in private practice and served both as an assistant prosecutor and a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. He resides with his wife Elizabeth and their two children in Botetourt County.
