Congressman Ben Cline, representing Virginia's Sixth Congressional District, has been awarded the Friend of the Farm Bureau Award for the 118th Congress. This accolade is presented to legislators who support agricultural legislation that benefits farmers and producers.
The award was given to Rep. Cline during his visit to Virginia Tech’s Alson H. Smith Agriculture Research Center in Winchester, VA. Upon receiving the award, Rep. Cline expressed his gratitude by stating, “I am truly honored to receive the Friend of the Farm Bureau award.” He emphasized the significance of farmers in both the economy and community: “Our farmers are not just vital to our economy; they are the backbone of our community and the cornerstone of Virginia’s Sixth district."
Rep. Cline highlighted his commitment to agriculture by mentioning initiatives such as hosting farm tours, reducing bureaucratic obstacles, investing in rural broadband, and securing beneficial trade deals for agricultural products. He assured continued advocacy for Virginia's Sixth District.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the Virginia Farm Bureau: “Thank you to the Virginia Farm Bureau for this award and their relentless advocacy on behalf of agriculture and our rural communities." He committed to continuing efforts that support rural economic growth and recognize farmers' hard work.
Before serving in Congress, Ben Cline worked as an attorney in private practice and held positions as an assistant prosecutor and a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. He resides with his wife Elizabeth and their two children in Botetourt County.
