Congressman Ben Cline of Virginia has expressed his support for the continuing resolution H.R. 10515, which he voted for to ensure the government remains operational. In a statement, Cline emphasized the importance of this measure in facilitating a smooth transition for the incoming Trump Administration.
"I voted for the Clean Continuing Resolution today because it is vital to keep our government running and to ensure the incoming Trump Administration can hit the ground running to enact the agenda supported by voters in November," Congressman Cline stated. He criticized an earlier version of the bill, describing it as "packed with unnecessary and wasteful provisions" that favored Democratic priorities.
Cline also highlighted specific elements of the resolution that he supports, particularly those related to agriculture and disaster relief. "I fully support the agriculture and disaster relief provisions included in this Clean Continuing Resolution," he said. He expressed pride in backing legislation that would prevent a government shutdown, ensure military pay, and provide aid to areas affected by disasters, including drought-stricken farms in Virginia.
He urged Democrats to back this critical bill to avoid a government shutdown scheduled for midnight.
Congressman Ben Cline serves Virginia's Sixth Congressional District. His background includes work as an attorney in private practice, an assistant prosecutor, and a member of the Virginia House of Delegates. He resides in Botetourt County with his wife Elizabeth and their two children.
