Women's Tennis Posts Six Wins

 The Shenandoah University women's tennis team had six wins Saturday on day one of the Battle of the Blue Ridge hosted by Sweet Briar College.

 

Shenandoah posted five of its wins in singles and one in doubles on day one of the two-day competition.

 

IN BRIEF

Madison Cooley, playing in the fifth flight, led the Hornets in singles. She was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Nya Reed and a 6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-8) victor over B. Galli from Southern Virginia.

 

Jahveesha Combs, Jada Lewis, and Erin Talko, playing Nos. 1, 2 and 4, respectively, all split their two singles matches.

 

In doubles, Combs and Allison Cherwein recorded an 8-2 win over Alex and Isabela Guilarte from the host Vixens at No. 1.
