Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ben Cline (R-VA) announced his candidacy today to become the next chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC).

“It’s time to turn the tide on the dangerous path our Nation has been led down by the disastrous policies of the Biden Administration,” Rep. Cline said. “We need a strong, conservative compass to set us back on the right course – one that puts America and its people first to win the policy battles ahead. I am dedicated to championing conservative values and confronting the pressing issues that impact our nation, and I have worked hard as the RSC Budget and Spending Task Force Chair to produce a seven-year balanced budget that restores fiscal responsibility to our Nation."

"The RSC has a rich history of crafting and championing conservative policies. As we look ahead to the possibility of a Trump presidency, a Republican-led Senate, and an expanded House Majority, I look forward to working with my colleagues to drive a robust conservative agenda that delivers results for all Americans and secures a brighter future for our great nation.”

The Republican Study Committee (RSC) has served as the conservative caucus of House Republicans since its founding in 1973. It aims to bring like-minded House members together to promote a strong legislative agenda that will limit government, strengthen national defense, boost America's economy, preserve traditional values, and balance the budget. The RSC provides tools and research for Congress members to craft policies benefiting Americans.

Congressman Ben Cline represents Virginia's Sixth Congressional District. He previously worked as an attorney in private practice and served as both an assistant prosecutor and a Member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Cline resides in Botetourt County with his wife Elizabeth and their two children.
